The cockroach on the left, photographed in the dark caves, is the one that was commonly thought to be Pycnoscelus striatus, but has now been shown to have been misidentified by me (among others). It is actually the same as the roach on the right, and is Periplaneta australasiae. More information about it can be found on the following sites : Site 1 Site 2
